Alliance Trust Co

Alliance Trust Company is a Calgary success story and truly reflects the Prairie mindset of hard work and integrity. It's founder, Zinat H. Damji, started her first company, Corporate Shareholder Services Inc. as a young bold entrepreneur, with $100,000 in capital, backed by a mentor who was a previous client / friend, over a cup of coffee and a handshake. In a similar manner, $2.8 million was raised a few years later in a private placement from a small group of investors, to start Valiant Trust Company. This was eventually sold to Canadian Western Bank, who in turn sold it a few years later to Computershare Trust Company of Canada. The model of business that Zinat H. Damji created through Valiant Trust Company was so innovative that to this day, new entrants into the corporate trust business seem to use it as a blue-print. With a string of successful ventures behind her, Zinat H. Damji was once again able to raise approximately $3 million, in a matter of less than an hour, with a solid business plan and a handshake, to embark on the long journey to apply for a Government Trust Charter to start Alliance Trust Company. This history of a high level of integrity, professionalism and building strong relationships has enabled Alliance Trust Company to be successful. We continue to build mutually beneficial relationships and are very thankful for the strong support of our loyal long term clients and backers. This corporate philosophy permeates every aspect of our business and our staff are carefully picked to reflect these traits. Alliance Trust Company is incorporated under the Loan and Trust Corporations Act and maintains $2 million unencumbered capital as a Reserve Fund, as required under the Trust Charter. At Alliance Trust Company, you will always receive personalized attention and specialized knowledge. We offer flexibility and respond to your needs promptly. We tailor our fees and services to meet your needs.
