Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Production Associate I to join our team. The desired candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent teamwork skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure within a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: 

  • Starting hourly rate for this position is: $18.00 per hour
  • An additional $2.00 shift differential will be applied while working 2nd shift
  • Pay is based on job-related experience

Schedule:

  • 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:00 pm - until done.
  • Please note: For this position, the first three days of employment require a temporary training schedule of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. After completing these initial three days, employees will transition to their regular assigned shift.

Location: 

  • This position is at the St. Michael facility full time.

Essential Functions:

  • Properly package products. Place appropriate product within packaging machine, box, or onto pallet. Utilize order cards where applicable.
  • Verify integrity of package to ensure elimination of leakers and product appearance is correct.
  • Confirm that product is within all specifications of product being packaged (i.e., weight, piece count, fat cover, labeling, film, seasoning/marinade, free of meat scrap debris etc.).
  • Must learn how to utilize electronic equipment in accordance with job title.
  • Arrange and maintain work area and equipment to assist in efficiency, safety, and reduction of waste (i.e., scales, floor mats, boxes, etc.)
  • Assemble, weigh, tape, label, code date, scan, and palletize boxes where necessary.
  • Always work in a safe manner for your own and other associate’s safety.
  • Comply with the requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), and Food Safety and Quality Food Programs (SQF).
  • Ability to wear hair/beard net.
  • Follow all safety laws, policies, and procedures. Immediately report safety concerns to supervisor. Ability to wear head and foot protection.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
  • Attend all safety and production trainings.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical and Environmental Factors:

  • Safety Awareness - Follow all safety laws, policies, and procedures. Immediately report safety concerns to supervisor.  Attend, and successfully complete, when applicable, all required safety training.
  • Quality Awareness - Comply with the requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), and Food Safety and Quality Food Programs (SQF).
  • Includes activities such as but not limited to walking, lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, twisting and turning
  • Requires ability to lift, up to 30 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
  • Requires ability to stand for the entirety of the shift (minus breaks/rest periods)
  • Subject to temperatures ranging from 30 degrees to 50 degrees constantly
  • Subject to noise levels higher than 85 decibels
  • Ability to wear all required PPE
