Job DetailsJob Location: Orange - QAF - Orange, CA 92867Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: HS Diploma or GEDSalary Range: $19.30 - $24.30 HourlyTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: AnyJob Category: ManufacturingJOB SUMMARY Primary responsibility is to operate QAF’s thermal processing equipment including heat treat and ageing furnaces, quench tanks, data recording devices, hardness and conductivity measuring tools, and forklifts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (But not limited to the following) Thermal Processing Set furnace temperatures per work order instructions Monitor heat up time and soak times ensuring adherence to work order instructions Rack parts as needed to optimize load size, adhering to acceptable part handling processes Load furnaces for optimal efficiency while maintaining part traceability Determine end of cycle times and shut down cycles and remove parts accordingly Perform the quench process when applicable and per work order instructions Immediately report over or under runs, out of temps, and any other non-conformances to quality Hardness & Conductivity Readings Perform hardness checks when required by the work order per testing procedures Perform conductivity readings when required by the work order per testing procedures Record results for hardness and conductivity per the requirements of QAF documentation Report non-conformances as required per QAF SOPs QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 1 year experience in thermal processing of metals, aluminum a plus Ability to perform basic math functions and read standard inspection measuring devices Forging industry experience a plus SPECIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS Ability to learn to use and become certified in hardness and conductivity reading tools Experience using a forklift and to pass QAF’s certification course Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems Good communication skills with all levels of a manufacturing organization LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze and interpret work orders, procedures, and specifications in English.
