The Material Handler supports daily yard and warehouse operations by accurately pulling, staging, and loading materials for delivery or production. This role plays a critical part in ensuring order accuracy, maintaining safe operations, and keeping workflow moving efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding outdoor environment. 


What you'll do:

  • Pick, pull, and prepare materials based on work orders, pick tickets, or customer requests  
  • Accurately verify quantities and record pulled materials to ensure order accuracy  
  • Load and secure materials onto delivery vehicles to prevent damage during transport  
  • Assist with unloading inbound materials and organizing inventory in designated areas  
  • Stage completed orders in proper sequence to support efficient delivery routes  
  • Inspect materials for quality and report any damage, discrepancies, or shortages  
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently  
  • Support drivers and team members to ensure orders are complete and ready on time  
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, including yard and equipment upkeep  
  • Follow standardized processes for order flow, staging, and loading procedures  
  • Monitor for safety hazards and follow all company safety policies and PPE requirements  
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support daily operations 

What you'll bring:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure order accuracy  
  • Basic math skills and ability to read pick tickets or work orders  
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with team members and drivers  
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills  
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic  
  • Safety-first mindset in a fast-paced environment 
  • Forklift experience or willingness to obtain certification  
  • Experience in material handling, warehouse, or yard operations preferred  
  • Experience working with building materials, lumber, or heavy products is a plus  
  • Familiarity with loading, staging, and order sequencing processes preferred 
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials (frequently 50+ lbs, occasionally more)  
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout an 8-hour shift  
  • Ability to perform work in outdoor yard and warehouse environments  
  • Comfortability with exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, humidity, cold, rain)  
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other yard equipment
