Job Description

Accounting Reimbursement Analyst I      Position Type: Full Time, non-exempt employee Salary Range: $26.00 - $32.00 an hour, DOE. Location: This position based onsite at the Service Center in San Juan Capistrano, CA and may offer a hybrid work option after a 90-day probationary period (not fully remote).   About the Company:

About the Opportunity   The Accounting Reimbursement Analyst I role is great opportunity for a new accounting graduate or current accounting student to build a strong foundation in healthcare accounting. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to core accounting principles, financial analysis, and multi‑state cost reporting while working alongside experienced accounting teams in a collaborative, learning-focused environment. Specific Duties include, but are not limited to: 
  • Prepare financial data and supporting workpapers to assist with the preparation and filing of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports across multiple states.
  • Ensure the accuracy of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for asset and liability accounts.
  • Compile, maintain, and review supporting documentation for balance sheet accounts to ensure completeness and audit readiness.
  • Analyze payment reports to identify and communicate cost report adjustments related to asset and liability accounts.
  • Review monthly occupancy reports and support occupancy-related calculations used in reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with service center accounting teams, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax, general ledger, and financial reporting, to support accurate and timely financial processes.
  • Provide support for ad hoc projects and special initiatives as business needs arise.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience) preferred, or current enrollment in an accounting program.
  • Basic understanding of GAAP accounting principles is a plus.
  • Proficiency with standard office software, including Outlook and Word, with strong Excel skills, required.
  • Some experience using accounting software is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with Workday Financials is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow, with a curiosity to build new skills and knowledge.
