Job Description

Data Science Trainee

As a member of the data science team, the Data Science Trainee will play a crucial role in supporting various projects and initiatives that drive tangible business outcomes. This role presents a unique opportunity for the trainee to expand their skills and knowledge in Data Science by collaborating with seasoned professionals in the field.

What you will do for C&F:

  • Work closely with Data Scientists to develop, implement, and maintain predictive models
  • Prepare and analyze data using SQL and Python
  • Engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across profit centers
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests

What you will bring to C&F:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
  • Programming: Python and SQL
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks across concurrent projects
  • Prior data science internship or equivalent project experience
  • Interest in insurance, underwriting, or claims
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as AWS preferred.
  • Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts (regression, classification) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization tools preferred.

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $55,800.00 to a maximum of $104,900.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
