Position Overview

The Memtek Operator oversees the daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of membrane‑based wastewater treatment systems (often including microfiltration, ultrafiltration, or reverse osmosis units). This role ensures the system meets regulatory, environmental, and production requirements while maintaining safe and efficient plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Run, monitor, and adjust Memtek/MBR equipment including pumps, filters, membranes, chemical dosing systems, and control panels.
• Track flow rates, pressures, turbidity, pH, conductivity, and other process indicators. Record operational data and report abnormalities.
• Perform routine cleaning cycles (CIP), backwashing, chemical cleanings, and membrane integrity checks to maintain optimal performance.
• Identify operational issues such as fouling, scaling, or mechanical failures. Assist maintenance teams with repairs and part replacements.
• Safely prepare and handle treatment chemicals (coagulants, acids, caustics, cleaning agents) according to safety protocols.
• Collect water samples, run basic lab tests, and ensure treated water meets environmental and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate logs, maintenance records, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and environmental guidelines. Participate in safety meetings and training.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications

• Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset.
• Ability to work independently or part of a team while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Experience with membrane filtration systems, wastewater treatment, or industrial water processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic understanding of water chemistry and treatment principles.
• Ability to lift equipment, work in industrial environments, and follow strict safety procedures.

Education and Experience Required

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 6 months of General Labor experience, preferably in a warehouse, industrial, or chemical processing environment.
