Job Description
Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, has an opening for a Custodian for our day shift operations working full-time Monday-Friday and may require working on Saturday based on workloads.
Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. Advanced manufacturing technologies are utilized at our climate controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility.
Starting pay is $21.61/hour

A day in the life of a Custodian involves maintaining the overall cleanliness of the Chesterton Plant. This includes daily cleaning of the Urschel CrossCut Wellness Center/Gym, including daily cleaning of gym equipment, floors, locker shower stalls, washrooms, and laundry (washing/stocking throughout shift). Maintaining the beverage stations throughout the plant and coolers for the training rooms. Uses cleaning tools and products to create a sanitized working environment in miscellaneous areas around the Plant. Pick up miscellaneous supplies offsite as needed.
Qualified applicants will have a minimum of one-month related work experience with a high school education or equivalent. Skills such as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, communicate effectively, and complete tasks timely and efficiently are required. Must have a valid driver’s license. Physical requirements include continuous standing and walking for up to 10 hours.
