Job Description

Primary Purpose

This position supports outbound transportation operations by monitoring track‑and‑trace activity and maintaining accurate, real‑time shipment status within Mountaire’s transportation systems. This role serves as a point of contact for routine shipment status inquiries from Sales and Operations, providing timely updates on delivery timing and documented service issues. Assists with appointment coordination by identifying scheduling issues, documenting exceptions, and escalating conflicts in accordance with established procedures. The role supports the documentation and communication of overages, shortages, and damages, and ensures shipment data is updated accurately and consistently throughout the shift to support service levels, compliance, and operational visibility. This role does not independently authorize appointment commitments or service resolutions and follows defined escalation protocols for issues requiring decision-making.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Communicate shipment status and appointment changes to Sales and customers in accordance with established guidelines, and coordinate with internal departments to support on‑time delivery by identifying and escalating issues as needed.
  2. Maintain accurate and timely data for truck arrivals and departure times within transportation systems.
  3. Document, track, and support the coordination of overages, shortages, and damages, escalating items requiring review or resolution per established procedures.
  4. Provide operational support to the Transportation team by completing assigned tracking, documentation, and communication tasks within defined processes.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, dispatch, or a related operational support environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with track‑and‑trace activity, shipment status monitoring, or appointment support. 
  • Working knowledge of logistics or dispatch processes, including carrier communication and shipment documentation, preferred.
  • Ability to accurately enter, maintain, and review data within transportation management or scheduling systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to provide clear, timely shipment updates to internal teams and customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment while following defined procedures and escalation protocols.
  • This role provides operational and administrative support within defined transportation processes and guidelines and does not have independent authority over scheduling commitments, customer service resolutions, or carrier negotiations.
  • Issues or exceptions outside established parameters are escalated to the appropriate Transportation Representative or supervisor for review and direction.
  • Work is performed in a time‑sensitive operational environment with shifting priorities based on transportation activity.
