Job Description

Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our Rehab Repair Technician position. The Rehab Repair Technician provides all repair and warranty work for rehab and assistive technology equipment including diagnostics, documentation, and paperwork, ordering and installing parts, pickup, and delivery of equipment and assisting the Rehab Specialist with other tasks or jobs as necessary. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with the client to provide timely repairs/warranty work for customer owned rehab equipment, if it is within our scope of service
  • Assess the equipment to ensure that it is from a manufacturer that Norco is a dealer for, and refer them to an appropriate provider if it is not
  • Determine whether the client is financially responsible for repairs to the equipment or if we will be billing insurance
  • Procure all documentation necessary to bill for repairs, labor and rental/loaner equipment to be provided during the repair process
  • Acquire prior authorizations from insurance as necessary
  • Work with the manufacturer to get repair quotes and order necessary parts for replacement/warranty work
  • Generate P.O.’s and RA’s, ship any parts back to the manufacturer within a timely manner
  • Be responsible for scheduling appointments at the patient’s home to assess equipment and for scheduling to pick up any rehab equipment for repairs
  • Perform all repair/warranty work necessary on customer owned rehab equipment with competence and in a timely manner
  • Maintain/service Norco owned rehab equipment and manufacturer demo equipment
  • Assist with receiving and assembling rehab/assistive technology equipment
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary
  • Wage $19-$21/Hr DOE

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Excellent Diagnostic and Technical Repair skills preferred, willing to train
  • Strong communication skills in dealing with customers who are often angry or frustrated in regards to problems related to their rehab equipment
  • Ability to educate the customer and referral source in regards to Norco’s Rehab Repair Process and assist them in the steps of acquiring proper documentation, assessing their equipment for repair/warranty work, scheduling time for repair/warranty work, and providing for rental equipment while the repairs necessary are completed
  • Must have the ability to quickly learn about new rehab and assistive technology products and how to properly diagnose and repair them
  • Must stay current in repair/diagnostic techniques and practices through ongoing education (a minimum of 10 hrs. a year), and be willing to take the steps necessary to obtain any additional education or credentials as deemed necessary
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and over 100 lbs. occasionally to a height of 36"
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk extended periods
  • Ability to drive safely
  • Valid Drivers License
