The Expeditor will coordinate, administer and execute all roll shop transportation activities for the Gary SMS group Operations site. The expeditor will work closely with all personnel to properly document incoming and outgoing roll activities. The Expeditor will maintain a close liaison with the Operations Supervisor to ensure on time deadlines are achieved for all outgoing roll shipments.

This position is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

Carefully inspecting and documenting all incoming and outgoing roll activities for accuracy.
Prepping rolls for shipment per business demands.
Complete SOP travelers and document daily activities
Must possess good mechanical skills in daily operations.
Must be able to operate overhead cranes / forklifts.
Ability to properly rig heavy machinery and equipment for use with overhead crane.
Ability to work with a safety conscientious attitude and report any unsafe acts or area to members of management.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

Ability to learn and understand critical processes and operations in assigned areas.
HS Diploma or equivalent
Must be safety conscious and have operated forklifts and overhead cranes
Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.

6am - 4pm
Monday - Friday + 1 weekend every 4 weeks
