Our Growth team is looking for a resourceful self-starter who is comfortable with collaboration and has strong communication skills. We’ll look for a strong interest in EdTech and learning alongside excitement about experimentation!

About Pocket Prep

Pocket Prep creates study apps (iOS, Android, and web) to help people across a range of industries study for professional certifications and reach their career goals. Professional certification exams are often a stressful and expensive barrier to career advancement. We exist to empower people with personalized and accessible test preparation, guiding them to engage fully, build confidence, and advance their careers by passing their exams.

We are located in Downtown Durham’s American Underground startup hub, where you’ll have access to a myriad of entrepreneurship events, co-working space, and free snacks.

About the Internship

As a Growth Intern, you will work closely with our Growth team and occasionally with other teams like Product or Design. You will support the Growth team by developing and deploying content strategies across different learning industries, giving you real-world marketing experience! This allows you to apply academic principles from your classroom in practice with a tech-based company. As you work with us, you will be able to develop your own work portfolio with published blog posts, carefully designed content strategies, website pages, and social media posts.

We're planning for this internship to last the summer semester (June-August), and we're flexible on the end date with an expectation of around 10-20 hours a week.

Pocket Prep

We are dedicated to providing the most effective, convenient, and engaging test prep for more than 165 standardized exams. We believe education should be within everyone’s reach. Having the right tools to be successful in your studies isn’t a notion that just the privileged few should have. That’s why we have led the mobile test prep category with our portable learning, smart feedback, and affordable programs since 2011. We care about people passing exams because we’ve been there. Co-founders Ken Gillette and Peter Murphy faced expensive, high-stakes tests for career-promoting professional credentials while working at Lockheed Martin. Like tens of thousands of other Americans, they shelled out hundreds of dollars to register and buy the materials they thought would improve their chances of passing. After hauling textbooks, flashcards, and study guides to costly test prep classes, they founded Pocket Prep to help people more effectively and inexpensively prepare for important assessments.
