Overview

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Associate Shift Construction Subcontract Technical Representative (STR) to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

The Associate Shift Construction Subcontract Technical Representative (STR) is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the progress of assigned construction subcontracts and Unit Price Subcontracts (UPC).  Conducts daily field surveillance of the subcontractors to ensure compliance with contract, safety, quality, environmental and technical requirements for execution of assigned subcontracts from conception to closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day administration and oversight of UPC subcontracts under direct supervision.
  • Assists with the preparation of subcontract documents, resolution of issues and claims, and management of subcontracts. Applies a basic understanding of construction and subcontracting principles to field conditions for these activities.
  • Assists with the implementation of assigned subcontracts and the subcontractor’s compliance with company safety, technical, cost and schedule requirements.
  • Assists with and/or provides oversight for the development of solicitation packages including design reviews, schedules and estimates; prepares safety documents and field conditions.
  • Assists with the monitoring of subcontractor safety, resolves technical issues, verifies work performed meets requirements, processes changes, and verifies invoices.
  • Assists and/or contributes to management reports pertaining to subcontract issues and performance.
  • Day to day interface with procurement, design, project management, subcontractors and others as required to ensure safe and effective performance of the subcontractor’s scope of work (SOW).
  • Ensures that all STR required training and qualifications are maintained.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED and relevant work experience in contracts/subcontracts, construction, engineering or related as defined in the job description.

Additional Information:

  • STR Qualification must be attained within three months of hire
  • To support 24 hours/7-day operations, this position will require the selected candidate to work a rotating shift schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree
  • Basic knowledge of general business and financial practices.
  • General understanding of construction activities and contract formation and administration.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations relating to procurement practices as defined under DEAR and FAR.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

Minimum Pay

USD $56,100.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $101,000.00/Yr.

Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) has been awarded the Savannah River Site Integrated Mission Completion Contract (SRS IMCC) by U.S Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management (DOE EM). SRMC comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor. Critical scope covered under SRS IMCC includes, but is not limited to: Liquid Waste Stabilization/Disposition, and may include Nuclear Materials Management and Stabilization; Project Management and Support Services; Storage of Liquid Radioactive Waste; Remediation, Treatment, and Disposal of Nuclear Materials, Spent Nuclear Fuel; Remediation and Treatment of Contaminated Surface Water, Groundwater and Soils; and, Decontamination of Nuclear Facilities and Equipment. The contract has an estimated ceiling of approximately $21 billion over a 10-year ordering period.
