Job Description

Position Overview

The Procurement and Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving items ordered for SVT Health and Wellness. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and place consolidated supply and special orders. Work with clinical staff to establish PAR levels. Establish new vendor accounts. Research and acquire cost comparisons for special order items. Assist staff with researching special order supply items.
  2. Receive goods/supplies at the SVT Health & Wellness warehouse and communicate between vendors and SVT staff on any missing items or backorders to ensure adequate levels of supplies are maintained at all times.
  3. Maintain nutraceutical inventory for all Health Center Locations. Place bi-weekly orders and communicate adjustments /inventory transfers to Accounting as needed. Coordinate with PSR staff to complete monthly cycle count. Perform fiscal year-end count.
  4. Stock and maintain clinic, administrative, and emergency supplies.
  5. Perform other errands as necessary in the daily course of SVT business.
  6. Follow, develop and implement procurement and receiving procedures and policies as applicable.
  7. Enter purchase request/orders to the appropriate grant or funding source.
  8. Performs other tasks as assigned
  9. Protect the security of all patient medical/dental records of information to ensure that confidentiality is maintained following HIPAA and PPI regulations as outlines in SVTHW policy and procedures.

Required Qualifications

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Unrestricted Alaska Driver License REQUIRED.

1 year or more of related experience required.

Strong preference for health care material management (inventory, stocking, etc.)

Proficiency with PC and Internet use. Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software. 

Be able to keep accurate records.

Work Environment

Seldovia Village Tribe is a drug-free, alcohol-free, and tobacco-free work environment.  Employee must have the ability to operate and do basic maintenance (install ink cartridges, paper, etc.) on fax, copier, 10 key calculator and postage meter machine proficiently.  This job may require driving within the Homer and Anchor Point areas between job sites.  This position will be located in a health center setting.  While unlikely for an admin role, an individual in this position may be exposed to communicable diseases or hazards common to a healthcare setting, including but not limited to communicable diseases, chemicals, and tuberculosis.  Work occurs in a typical clinic setting.  Work may be subject to high-stress.
