Job Description
Location: Portland, OR
Schedule: Minimum 5 days/week, weekend availability required
Pay: Starting at $19/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt | Swing Shift
Reports To: Sanitation Supervisor
We're looking for an experienced Sanitation Lead to guide our sanitation team on the floor, keep operations running on schedule, and uphold the high safety and food quality standards Quality Harvest Foods is built on. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll be the go-to person on shift when the supervisor is out, and the steady presence that keeps the team focused and compliant every day.
Lead daily sanitation activities on your assigned shift, following SSOPs and the Master Sanitation Schedule
Verify task completion and pre-op inspections so the facility is ready for on-time start-ups
Coach technicians in real time, model best practices, and flag performance issues to supervision
Oversee proper chemical handling, PPE use, tool segregation, and LOTO compliance
Respond to spills, downtime, or equipment issues and adjust sanitation activities as needed
Support internal and third-party inspections, including interactions with regulatory officials
1+ year of experience in sanitation or food manufacturing / CPG
Working knowledge of GMPs and sanitation best practices
Ability to read English and follow written procedures and technical documents
Comfortable working weekends and flexible shifts, including extended hours for deep cleaning
Able to operate industrial equipment (forklift, pallet jack, pressure washers, dry ice blasters)
This is a physically active role in a food manufacturing facility. Expect exposure to moisture, temperature extremes, chemicals, and noise — PPE is required throughout sanitation activities. You'll lift up to 25 lbs regularly, stand and walk for extended periods, and access confined and elevated spaces as needed.
As Sanitation Lead, you'll be on the front lines of our commitment to safe, clean, and high-quality food production. We provide the tools, training, and support you need to lead confidently and grow your career in food manufacturing.
We offer:
