Position Summary

The Environmental Services Associate is responsible for the cleanliness of all assigned areas, and ensures that resident clothing and linens are clean and available for use.

Pay Rates & Available Shifts

1st shift (6:30 AM – 3 PM). The base pay is $17.25 per hour, with an additional $2.00 per hour weekend shift differential.

Essential Job Duties

  • Clean all resident, office, and staff areas using proper supplies
  • Emptying trash and delivering supplies
  • Collect soiled laundry and linen to sort in laundry room
  • Load washers and dryers using laundry carts
  • Fold and hang resident clothing for delivery
  • Sweeps, dusts, and mops floors daily

Requirements

Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds regularly and push individuals who weigh up to 200 pounds in wheelchairs. Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear. Must be able to stay awake for the entire shift.

Heinzerling Community

The mission of the Heinzerling Community is to provide a loving and nurturing environment that enriches the development, education and quality of life of individuals with severe or profound developmental disabilities. The Heinzerling Community is located on the Southwest side of Columbus and provides 24 hour residential care for 208 individuals with severe developmental disabilities. A staff of over 520 professionals works around the clock to nurture our residents and give them a fulfilled life. This is accomplished through a personalized approach involving many therapies including physical/occupational therapy, communication skills, life skills, sensory development, and mobility opportunities for residents. Much of this occurs at the Heinzerling Community and off-site during community field trips.
