Job Description

Children's Aid Society is Hiring:Childcare Associates Full-time (40 hours, 5 days) and Part-time (24 Hours-3 days) Sunday through Saturday weekly to work second shift (2:45 pm - 11:15 pm) in our childcare residential programs.

The Children's Aid Society is dedicated to supporting children and families in crisis through compassionate care and services. We are currently seeking caring and dedicated Childcare Associates to work with youth residing at Cornerstone Youth Home, and Lehman Crisis Nursery, creating a supportive and empowering atmosphere for those who need it most.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and supervision for children and youth at the Cornerstone Youth Home and Lehman Crisis Nursery.
  • Support daily routines, activities, and life skills development.
  • Establish a caring, trusting relationship with children and youth, serving as a positive role model.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individual care plans.
  • Assist with emotional and behavioral support, helping youth manage their feelings and behaviors in a constructive way.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Document observations and report any concerns or incidents to supervisors as needed.
  • Facilitate recreational, educational, and creative activities to engage and inspire youth.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a degree or diploma in social services, child development, or related field is an asset.
  • Experience working with children or youth, particularly those in crisis, is preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and empathetic in stressful situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • A criminal background check and a health physical are required
