Distribution People Services Assistant 

Monday - Friday 

7:00am - 4:00pm 

Starting $20.00 per hour, depending on experience 

Havertys is looking for a bright energetic Distribution People Services Assistant to join our Team. In this role, you will assist with recruiting, team member communications, and administering other HR functions at the Florida Distribution Center located in Lakeland, FL.  This is an opportunity for you to advance your career with Havertys, the most established Furniture Retailer in the industry.  Your onsite, hands-on training begins on your first day. SPECIFIC DUTIES: 

Key point of contact for People Services and General Manager on DC staffing needs 

Daily and weekly review of each department’s staffing requirements to develop staffing solutions 

Post open positions and execute recruiting strategies to achieve required staffing levels 

Identifies, screens and refers top talent to hiring managers 

Works closely with hiring managers on interviews and selection process 

Complete post-hire process to include administering drug screen, initiating background checks and scheduling physical assessments 

Manage onboarding process 

Manages candidate activity in Success Factors 

Maintains records and provides daily statistics on recruiting activities 

Assist with all employee transfers, salary changes, terminations, etc. 

Assist with human resource functions, including payroll, uniform management, employee relations, employee files and policy management 

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related projects as needed 

Maintain confidentiality of associate records by not discussing any information outside of the Human Resources department and by ensuring the work area is secure when unattended 

Support all special activities, events, lunches, etc. to include organizing and preparing food and prep, preparing flyers, offer creative ideas for various campaigns, exceptions lunches, Annual Open Enrollment, monthly events, etc. 

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: 

Prefer some experience in Human Resources/Recruiting 

Must be detail oriented and able to perform multiple tasks during the workday.  

Ability to take direction, responsibility, ownership, and work independently 

Excellent communication and ability to maintain an elevated level of confidentiality.  

Proven skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.  

Knowledge of Success Factors is a plus 

Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
