Job Description

Tuesday – Friday Start Time: 1:00 AM | Saturday Start Time: 4:00 AM
Hostler Work Required as Needed (+$1.00/hr while hostling)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely
  • Load, unload, sort, and move freight throughout the dock
  • Record shipment shortages or damage to help minimize cargo claims
  • Complete shipping paperwork including bills of lading, manifests, freight counts, and hazardous material documentation
  • Regroup and organize freight as needed
  • Perform hostler duties, including moving trailers to dock doors or yard locations, when needed
  • Conduct pre/post-trip inspections when performing hostler duties
  • Maintain dependable attendance and work various shifts based on business needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  •  Previous warehouse, dock, or forklift experience preferred
  • Forklift experience strongly preferred
  • Hostler experience is a plus, but not required
  • Basic math, measuring, and weighing skills required
  • Experience using pallet jacks, dock carts, dock plates, load locks, and related equipment preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, dispatch, and managers
  • LTL experience preferred
  • Basic English proficiency (reading, writing, and verbal) required
