Description

We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and team-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our growing pediatric dental team. Our office focuses on creating a positive, fun, and comfortable experience for children and families while providing high-quality dental care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate must be compassionate, patient-focused, able to multitask efficiently, and comfortable working with children of all ages, including anxious and special needs patients. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with doctors, assistants, and front desk team members are essential.

Dental Hygienist Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide preventive dental hygiene care for pediatric patients
Gather and review the patient's medical history and health information
Take dental radiographs/x-rays as needed
Prepare treatment rooms and patients for procedures
Perform dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, and periodontal assessments as appropriate
Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care
Update and maintain accurate patient charts and clinical notes
Follow infection control, sterilization, OSHA, CDC, and office protocols
Support doctors and the clinical team in maintaining efficient patient flow
Create a positive and welcoming environment for children and families

Requirements

Active Registered Dental Hygienist License in Massachusetts
Current CPR Certification
Understanding of dental hygiene procedures and pediatric preventive care
Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Experience with Denticon is a plus

Poor oral health leads to pain, infections, nutrition problems, tooth loss, sleep deprivation, attention deficit, slower social development and missed school days. Children also become embarrassed and suffer low self esteem and confidence because of decaying teeth. Recent studies also show that children with poor oral health were four times more likely to get below the median GPA due to higher number of missed days, distraction due to pain and attention deficit due to sleep deprivation. If untreated, poor oral health can seriously undermine a child's quality of life and future.
