Position – Medical Records Assistant
Location: Retirement Ranches, Inc. – Clovis, NM (on-site position)
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00a-4:30p

Job Summary:
Supports the maintenance, accuracy, security, and organization of resident medical records within a long-term care or skilled nursing facility. This role helps ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations regarding health information management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organize resident medical records using electronic charting systems.
- Ensure all resident documentation is complete, accurate, and filed promptly in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Scan, upload, and index documents into resident electronic charts.
- Respond to requests for medical records from authorized individuals and agencies.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of resident health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with record retention and destruction procedures according to facility policy.
- Assists with answering and directing incoming phone calls professionally and courteously.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare confidentiality standards.
- Strong computer, organizational, and data-entry skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in medical records, health information management, or long-term care.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with long-term care regulations.
