Our Medical Records Clerk:

  • Organizes, updates, and maintains patient records.
  • Prepares, scans, and indexes medical documentation into EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth).
  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality in accordance with federal (HIPAA) and state regulations.
  • Processes requests for medical records from patients, physicians, and insurance companies.
  • Reviews files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with facility standards.
  • Answers phones, faxes documents, and supports front-office staff with patient intake or discharge processes.
  • Supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in health information management preferred.
  • 1-2 years Previous experience in a medical office, hospital, or handling, health information. Senior living experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with EHR Software programs.
  • Experience with Medical and Medicaid strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Workday preferred, but not required.
