The Capital Markets team is responsible for supporting the company’s secondary-market execution, investor relationships, loan sale analysis, mortgage-backed securities activity, and loan purchase reconciliation. The analyst will work closely with Capital Markets leadership and gain hands-on exposure to mortgage capital markets, investor execution, loan sale economics, and financial data analysis.

Prior mortgage capital markets experience is not required. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working with detailed financial data, and eager to learn a specialized area of the mortgage finance industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain, and improve financial reports, market analysis, analytical workbooks, and reconciliation tools.
  • Analyze loan sale data and assist with reconciling expected versus actual loan purchase proceeds.
  • Research variances, discrepancies, fees, defects, and other items that impact loan sale execution.
  • Support investor analysis, best execution review, servicing/SRP analysis, and secondary-market reporting.
  • Assist in Ginnie Mae pooling-related analysis and coordination.
  • Summarize findings clearly and communicate issues, trends, and exceptions to internal stakeholders.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve reporting, data quality, workflow efficiency, and process controls.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as Lock Desk, Warehouse, Servicing, Shipping/Post Closing, Accounting, and Finance.
  • Assist with locked pipeline hedge support, including monitoring market movements, updating reports, and supporting the use of TBA mortgage-backed securities to manage interest rate risk.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving ability.
  • Basic understanding of financial markets, interest rates, bonds, or investment concepts.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial data.
  • Ability to research discrepancies and explain findings clearly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, curious, coachable, and willing to learn specialized mortgage capital markets concepts.
  • Degree in finance, economics, accounting, business analytics, data analytics, or a related analytical field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with financial data, reconciliations, reporting, or analytical models.
  • Exposure to mortgage banking, banking, investments, treasury, capital markets, accounting, or financial operations.
  • Interest in mortgage-backed securities, fixed income, interest rates, or secondary-market finance.
  • Experience improving manual processes, reports, or data workflows.

Why This Role

This is an opportunity to build a specialized career in mortgage capital markets while working directly with a small, experienced team. The role offers exposure to investor execution, loan sale economics, mortgage-backed securities, Ginnie Mae pooling, servicing valuation, and financial reconciliation.
