Clean Water Action is a national nonprofit with over 50 years of experience advocating for clean water, environmental justice, and public health. With a strong emphasis on grassroots organizing, expert policy research, and holding elected officials accountable, we empower communities to take meaningful action on critical environmental issues.

Job Description

Clean Water Action is looking to hire a core team of motivated individuals with a passion for progressive social change to fill community-outreach and management positions.

This is a full-time position. We are looking to hire candidates who are available to start immediately. This is an in-person job in Northampton, MA, and the hours are from 2pm to 10pm Monday through Friday.

  • Clean Water: Protect the nation’s waterways to keep our drinking water and recreational areas pristine
  • Environmental Justice: Ensure that low income communities and communities of color are not disproportionately burdened by negative environmental impacts.
  • Climate Change: Promote energy efficiency and renewable energy policies and programs that will help mitigate climate change disasters, improve overall public health, and create a green working economy.

Qualifications

Job responsibilities for canvass managers include educating the public on our campaigns and building the support we need to win through petition signatures, collecting letters to our lawmakers, and fundraising.

All Field Manager candidates will start off as canvassers(at a pay rate of $18+/hr) and can be fast-tracked to management positions($18.25+/hr(Trainer) or $21.10+/hr(Field Manager)) depending on skill level and/or past experience. 

Field Manager responsibilities include training and developing new activists, motivating teams of 5 or more to be goal oriented, managing team logistics, analyzing canvass and budget performance, excelling at setting and meeting goals, and leading by example.

Ideal candidates should have strong communication skills, great leadership qualities, attention to detail, and a true passion for environmental issues, politics, or social justice.

This is an in-person role based in Northampton, MA. Applicants must have reliable plans to commute or reside locally.
