We are seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time and part-time Barista to join our team in creating a welcoming café experience for our customers. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires a blend of culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas.
• Operate cash registers accurately, handle cash transactions, and process payments efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
• Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, including baking pastries or preparing light snacks.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries or concerns.
• Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

Experience

• Previous experience in the food service or café industry is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with food preparation techniques and food safety regulations is advantageous.
• Basic math skills for handling cash register operations and retail math calculations are essential.
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy periods.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members positively.
• A passion for coffee culture and an eagerness to learn about different brewing methods is a plus.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): or Work Equivalent
• Must have good understanding of the English language and previous guest/customer relations training

Licenses

• Food Handlers License – KCMO within 30 days of hire
• Liquor License – KCMO within 30 days of hire

Must be willing to complete drug screen and background check in accordance with federal and state laws.
