Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the operation of production equipment to produce quality products meeting customer specifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform manual drilling operations using hand drills, drill presses, and related tools.
• Assemble steel components according to work instructions, blueprints, or job travelers.
• Measure and verify hole locations, sizes, and part alignment using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges, etc.).
• Deburr, clean, and prepare parts for next operations.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Communicate production issues, defects, or equipment concerns to supervision.
• Meet production and quality goals while maintaining safe work practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support production needs.
• Be able to operate air powered tooling

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school graduate or equivalent training or work experience. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to safely operate hand tools and basic shop equipment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read basic blueprints or willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Frequent use of hands for gripping, drilling, and assembly tasks.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conform to all Wayne Metals, LLC environmental policies, programs and procedures.
• Conform to all State of Indiana laws and regulations.
• Report any environmental concerns to Supervisor, Environmental Management Representative, or the Plant manager.
