JOB SUMMARY   

Under the direct supervision of the Quality Director, the Quality Intern position is responsible for supporting the quality department by performing the following duties. Duties of this position are varied and may include the following: 

    • Assist with reviewing and processing in-process inspection reports (IPR). 
    • Create quality control reports (QCR) by documenting inspection results, recording nonconformances, and ensuring accurate reporting of part quality against blueprint and customer requirements. 
    • Maintain accurate quality documentation, including inspection reports, job travelers, and nonconformance records, ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards (e.g., ISO).
    • Help maintain organized and accurate quality records on the shop floor, ensuring proper documentation of inspection results, defects, and corrective actions.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Knowledge of 3D modeling software
    • Ability to troubleshoot
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel 
    • Ability to create concise visual instructions
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

    • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program

    According to the New York Pay Transparency law, the pay rate for this job is $20.00 / hour.

    Precise Tool & Mfg. is a state of the art CNC machine shop with over 80 CNC machine tools at its disposal under 200,000 square feet of roof. Our machine tools vary from 3 axis to 5 axis machining centers with the majority being 4 and 5 axis. Pending the material type we can utilize our high speed machining centers with spindle speeds up to 25,000 rpm. Precise can machine parts from 2 lbs up to 120,000 lbs specializing in both production and prototype machining. Our facility can turn parts from 1 inch up to 18 feet in diameter and mill parts from 3 inches up to 20 feet long. Customer’s electronic files are used for programming our machine tools and to inspect the parts on coordinate measuring machines. With the redundancy in machine tools, our customers never have to worry about a machine going down. On blanket orders/volume orders Precise Tool will maintain inventory and ship parts per your request.
