Job Summary:

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for planning, purchasing, and coordinating materials required to support production schedules and inventory objectives. This role serves as a key liaison between suppliers, customers, and internal teams to ensure timely material availability, order accuracy, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and plan material requirements to support production schedules and inventory objectives.
  • Create, place, and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Resolve purchase order issues including quantity discrepancies, cost variances, expedites, and quality concerns.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal departments on procurement-related matters.
  • Provide last-mile material support, including coordination of customs review and approvals as required.
  • Participate in the resolution of product quality issues in coordination with quality and engineering teams.
  • Interface with off-site buyers, logistics, accounting, and customers on order-related issues.
  • Coordinate broker activity, scrap disposition, and material sales with customers, warehouse, and finance teams.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities as required.
  • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly procurement and material reports.
  • Perform other duties necessary to support procurement and material management functions as assigned.
  • Adhere to company ethics, labor guidelines, Environmental Health and Safety requirements, and SER standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

  • One (1) year or more of experience in procurement, material management, or supply chain operations preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or assembly environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with purchasing processes, inventory control, and supplier coordination.
  • Experience with SAP, MRP systems, and advanced Excel skills preferred.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

The Procurement Specialist works primarily in an office environment within a manufacturing or assembly setting. The role requires sitting for approximately 75 percent of the workday while working on a computer or phone. The position may require occasional movement throughout the facility and may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing as required by applicable regulations.
