Responsibilities

The Yard Jockey is responsible for moving various types of trailers and straight trucks between facilities for loading and unloading. This includes coordinating with the plant and performing quality assurance sampling and logging.

Qualifications

You will be responsible for moving multiple trailers and straight trucks between various facilities for loading and unloading products. This includes tasks such as drop and hook operations, moving bulk feed, ingredient hoppers, and liquid tankers. You will also be responsible for opening and closing bin lids, communicating with the plant, and taking product samples for QA.

Job Description

Team member moves trucks and trailers for loading and unloading products

  • Move van trailers between facilities – often requires drop and hook.
  • Move bulk feed trailers and straight trucks to scale and load bulk feed at multiple facilities.
  • Move ingredient hopper trailers to load and unload products as multiple facilities.
  • Move liquid tankers and air can trailers between facilities to load and unload ingredients.
  • Self-paced, exposure to outside ambient temperatures. 

Processes and QA Standards

  • Employee opens and closes bin lids on the trailer.
  • Communicate with the plant to coordinate loading of product on the trailer.
  • Takes product samples from the trailer bins for QA records.

May perform specific QA testing of the product and log results
