Job Description
Shift: Days, evening, weekend
Department: Operating room University Hospital
Compensation:
Base Pay Range:
Surg Tech Certified: $27.21 - $42.99 per hour, based on experience
Surgery Tech: $25.32 to - $39.99 per hour, based on experience
Special Pay: Additional $2.50 per hour until June 27, 2026
Shift Differentials: Additional $2 per hour evenings/nights/weekends
Retention Rewards: Up to $15,000
Relocation Support: Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away
Retention Reward (Option 1): $2,000 per year for up to 5 years, totaling $10,000
Student Loan Repayment (Option 2): $2,000 per year toward student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) year of experience as a surgical technologist. Completion of an accredited surgical tech program, the MU Health Care Surgical Tech program, or military training may be substituted.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or Certified Operating Room Surgical Technician (CORST) certification by National Health Career Association (NHA), or Technician in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) certification by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
