Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Die Cast Operator to join our manufacturing team at UPG Electrical an industry leader in electrical metal products. The Weld Cell Operator will be responsible for setup and operation of Robotic Weld cells, ensuring the quality and accuracy of die cast parts, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role requires technical proficiency in die cast processes, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Operate the die cast press by loading parts on the caster and cycling.
  • Inspect and gauge parts, as required.
  • Adjust the die cast settings, as required.
  • Perform pre work and finishing functions, such as grinding, skewing and packing.
  • Unload parts and deliver to next operation.
  • Complete necessary paperwork.
  • Postproduction in ERP system.
  • Assist with continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives.
  • Follow all safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience in manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Previous robotic welding, a plus
  • Ability to read and understand calipers, GO/NO GO gauges, height gauges, and feeler gauges.
  • Ability to read and understand prints, quality requirements, and work instructions.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot
  • Ability to use power tools safely, such as a grinder.
  • Ability to lift up 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
  • Positive demeanor, dependability, and strong work ethic.
