Job Title: Staff Accountant

  • Assist with the creation of financial statements.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Create purchase orders.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports.
  • Monitor fixed asset and depreciation accounts.
  • Identify and help implement improvements to existing processes and systems.
  • Record general journal entries.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors.
  • Assist with the creation and tracking of the annual financial budget.
  • Support the monitoring of indirect cost rates and pools.
  • Assist in the creations of the Monthly Financial Review.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/What You'll Bring:
  • Entry Level: 0-3 years of experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strives for continuous improvement and creative new solutions.
  • Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills.
  • Must be self-directed and able to work independently.
Nice to Haves:
  • Knowledge of defense contracting
  • Experience with Unanet ERP
Education/Credentials:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • US Citizenship is required for consideration, as this job requires a US government security clearance.
    • Nice to have - Secret level clearance.
    • Acceptable - No current clearance but eligibility to obtain 
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position and work on a computer for prolonged periods
