Job Description

Purpose of the position: in direct collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager and the warehouse supervisor, the material handler is responsibly to supply, on time the component to the production floor.

The material handler is responsible to retrieve the finish product and industrial waste from the floor.

Job Duties

  • Obtain visual aids of appropriate processes.
  • Unload incoming material form trucks using material handling equipment as needed (Forklift, Pallet Jack, Tugger).
  • Receive all incoming material as required following M3 Guidelines
  • Place all incoming materials in designated Locations as required using M3 procedures.
  • Assign shelf location at the appropriate time for all incoming raw materials using M3 Procedures 
  • Pull raw material as Required from the approved storage location and deliver it to production floor and make transfers using M3 Procedures
  • Dispose all packing material in trash bins.
  • Place finished parts in finished good shelves and assign location in M3. 
  • Operate both raw material and finish goods warehouses on First in First Out (FIFO) bases.
  • Follow traceability procedure
  • Escalate any risk of shortage visible 
  • Pack Raw Material in the appropriate internal packaging. 
  • Dispose Raw Material and Finish good to and from the production lines per Hoshin and Kanban rules.
  • Train new operators.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Authority

  • To make recommendations relating to product and production processes to supply chain manager, quality, maintenance, or other members of management. 
  • Directly make sure that the Kanban and inventory on the floor is respected
  • All employees have a quality, safety, and environmental responsibility; therefore, having the authority to stop any work process which may negatively affect quality, safety, and/or the environment, or quarantine suspect items in the appropriate designated area until the issues are resolved.
  • Shift assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Back up for unloading incoming material form trucks.
  • Back up for processing the appropriate paperwork to initiate receiving process.
  • Back up for moving the received material as instructed in receiving process result to the appropriate area and updating M3.
  • Responsible for supplying production floor with all raw materials as released per work order.
  • Back up for finishing all shipping documentation as required by appropriate work instructions.
  • Back up for loading appropriate quantity on shipping trucks along with appropriate documentation as it present.   
  • Responsible for meeting Electricfil Corporation quality criteria.
  • Responsible for attending all meetings as assigned.
  • Manage plant environmental matters, including waste minimization efforts, oversight of plant pollution control equipment and environmental permits.
  • Management of hazardous waste.
  • Knowledge of RCRA hazardous waste
  • Prepare hazardous waste determinations for waste activities.
  • Prepare or be required to package, store, and transport hazardous waste onsite to proper storage areas.
  • Completion and submittal of required environmental reports.
  • Trained in RCRA/DOT annual requirements.

Reporting: Update your activity dashboard daily, periodically analyze and discuss performance with your line manager about the goals set and adjust your actions accordingly.

Cross training on additional pieces of equipment. Participation in internal and external training programs

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience: 

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent.
  • One year work experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the automotive industry).
  • Must be alert, self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Enterprise Resources Planning Training (M3) to include (Receiving of raw material, Storage, Inventory, and shipping) 
  • Forklift, Pallet Jack, Tugger certification.

Special knowledge (languages, IT, etc.): Communication/negotiation/meeting facilitation. 

Fluent in business English, IT literate.

Functional capacity requirements:

Note:  In terms of an 8-hour workday, “Occasionally” equals 1% to 33%; “Frequently” equals 34% to 66%, and “Continuously” equals 67% to 100% of the time.

In an 8-hour workday the jobholder should be able to:
