Job Summary: The Health & Safety Coordinator supports the implementation and maintenance of the company’s health and safety management system, including the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). This entry-level role focuses on coordinating safety activities such as training, inspections, incident tracking, and documentation to help ensure a safe and compliant workplace.

This position serves as a designated health and safety contact for employees and supports communication between departments to promote a proactive safety culture.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Health and Safety Support

  • Assist in maintaining the company’s IIPP in alignment with Cal/OSHA requirements 
  • Support development, organization, and updates of safety policies, procedures, and records 
  • Ensure safety documentation is accurate, current, and audit-ready

Inspections & Hazard Management

  • Participate in routine safety inspections and walkthroughs with supervisors 
  • Help identify workplace hazards and communicate findings to leadership 
  • Track and follow up on corrective actions to ensure timely resolution

Training & Communication

  • Coordinate safety training programs (new hire orientation, monthly meetings, refresher training) 
  • Maintain training records, attendance logs, and documentation 
  • Assist with preparing and distributing safety communication materials

Incident Reporting & Tracking

  • Assist with incident and near-miss reporting and documentation 
  • Help gather information to support investigations and corrective actions 
  • Maintain injury, incident, and hazard tracking logs

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Support preparation for internal and external audits, including customer audits (e.g., Costco) 
  • Assist in maintaining OSHA logs and required compliance records 
  • Help ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements

Safety Engagement

  • Participate in safety committee meetings and track action items 
  • Encourage employee participation in safety programs and hazard reporting 
  • Support ongoing safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, safety, HR, or related field preferred 
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety principles is a plus 
  • Willingness to learn safety regulations and company procedures 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
