Job Title: Assistant Store Manager

Compensation: $55,000-$65,000 annually, including bonus and commissions.
About the RoleTrailersPlus is seeking an energetic Assistant Store Manager (ASM) to help lead our local lot and sales operations. In this role, you will partner directly with the Store Manager to drive revenue, oversee daily operations, and manage our sales and service teams. This is a dynamic position combining retail sales leadership, inventory management, and hands-on service coordination. What You Will Do
  • Drive Sales and Revenue: Partner with the Store Manager to achieve location revenue goals, generate local market leads, and handle trailer and parts sales.
  • Lead the Team: Support hiring, on-boarding, and training for service and parts staff. Provide active performance management, accountability, and coaching.
  • Manage Operations: Oversee trailer inspections, inventory control, parts purchasing, vendor relations, and local pricing structures.
  • Handle Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate employee timecards, submit sales paperwork to state agencies timely, and process invoices for trailers, parts, and labor.
  • Step Up as Leader: Act as the primary leader on the lot during the Store Manager’s absence, taking full responsibility for daily schedules and operations.
  • Maintain the Facility: Keep the showroom, shop, and lot organized and clean to ensure a safe, secure, and professional environment.

What We Are Looking For
  • Experience: 6 months to 1 year of related retail management, sales, or training experience.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills: Strong customer service, sales, leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Technical Aptitude: Basic computer/keyboarding proficiency and comfort navigating online operating systems.
  • Mathematical Ability: Comfort calculating discounts, commissions, percentages, and basic operational dimensions.
  • Language Skills: Ability to write routine correspondence and speak professionally with customers and team members. Bilingual fluency in Spanish is a strong plus.
  • Certifications: Willingness to obtain city/state vehicle sales licenses where required. Ability to achieve company certifications for operating forklifts, tractors, power tools, and welding equipment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Routinely lift, push, or pull 50-75 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, reach, and climb ladders frequently throughout the shift.
  • Comfort working in varying outdoor weather conditions (wet, humid, hot, or cold).
  • Ability to safely navigate a mechanical shop environment.
