Job Description

Family Haven is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to building a community of happy, healthy individuals and families through the prevention and treatment of child abuse and trauma. With locations in Orem and Lehi, we provide a range of family support programs designed to strengthen relationships and promote long-term well-being.

This internship offers hands-on experience supporting our core programs and daily operations. It is an excellent opportunity for students interested in social work or related fields to gain meaningful, real-world experience within a dynamic social services organization while making a direct impact in the community.

What You'd Be Doing

  • Work directly with children in our respite care program
  • Support front desk operations and assist with administrative tasks
  • Co-facilitate group parenting classes
  • Lead or assist with social skills groups for children
  • Participate in community outreach events
  • Help plan and implement family-focused community events

Supervision

  • Supervision is provided in accordance with school requirements. We offer supervision from licensed professionals, including BSW, MSW, and LCSW-level supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to a minimum of 425 total hours (may be completed across multiple semesters)
  • Availability to participate in-person during regular business hours (no virtual-only option available)
  • Currently an MSW student (Year 1)
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited program
  • Students in related majors (currently enrolled in an academic program) who intend to apply to MSW programs are also eligible to apply.
