Infant Teacher

Location: Wayne, NJ

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

As a member of our teaching team, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Formalize lesson plans weekly for upcoming instructional period.
• Relate instructional objectives to elementary curriculum standards and demonstrate effective decision-making concerning instructional goals.
• Determine students’ performance using informal and formal assessment and observation.
• Effectively implements elementary curriculum content, standards and teaching methodologies, including technology.
• Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program.
• Use a variety of instructional materials such contextual, supplemental, teacher-constructed, teaching bulletin boards, audio-visual, hands-on, discovery and activity-based learning.
• Maintains accurate and timely educational assessments and progress notes for all assigned students.
• Train and supervise teacher assistant within the classroom.
• Meet with parents throughout the year to discuss child’s progress.
• Attends Open House, Back to School Night, Teacher In-Service days and all weekly staff meetings and weekly teacher curriculum

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education preferred
• Minimum of one year of Montessori experience required
• Ability to communicate with parents effectively and professionally
• Lesson planning and development
• Ability to multi-task and function in an ever-changing environment

Final compensation is determined based on a combination of factors; including years of experience in a similar role, relevant certifications and/or credentials, and the size and/or geographic location of the school.
