Maintenance Generalist – Danville VA

Summary:

General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. You must be able set up, adjust and break down production line machinery. Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. Must be willing to read, write, and communicate effectively. Must be willing to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. Must be willing to complete all required training for the job.

Position Specific:  

Maintenance Generalist applicants must possess: Minimum of 6 months of industrial maintenance experience documented in the applicant's work experience, preferred not required. Candidate may also have verifiable formal schooling in a relevant maintenance/refrigeration trade in lieu of experience.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.  

Physical environment/working conditions:

• Applicants must be willing to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, kneel, squat, and reach. Lifting is required in many areas (weight depends on area.)
• Team Members who hold these positions must be willing to work in either cold, damp or hot, humid environments and these areas may have slippery walking surfaces.
• Must be willing to lift 70 lbs. on a daily basis and be willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours.

ANY INTERNAL POSITIONS ARE SLATED FOR TEAM MEMBERS CURRENTLY WORKING AT DANVILLE FACILITY.

Discretionary positions must be out of probationary period (90 days-- must have completed, no exceptions), have less than 6 attendance points, and must not have had a serious disciplinary (written or suspension) in last 6 months. For discretionary roles, TMs must have completed 6 months in their current position to be eligible to apply (lateral roles only).
