RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position is responsible for many duties such as cleaning and stocking the bars as well as bartending. When behind the bar, the barback must have a professional, positive attitude and greet every guest in a courteous and friendly manner.  Barbacks will have to learn how to make cocktails and be knowledgeable of the POS system.  While breaking bartenders they will receive beverage orders from guests and cocktail servers, prepare the drinks in a proper and timely fashion and ring all beverages into the POS system.  Barbacks will be trained in alcohol awareness and must maintain the highest standards of sanitation, professional grooming and conduct at all times.  Barbacks are the “backbone” of the beverage department hence the name barback.

1.    Ensure all bars and service areas are properly stocked and cleaned.

2.    Be observant and aware of bartender, server and guest needs and wants at all times.

3.    Must be able to manage time efficiently and effectively.

4.    Must be able to anticipate needs and take action without being told to do so. Relieve bartenders for their breaks.

5.    Barbacks are responsible for checking out their own bank from Player Services and may not use a bartender’s bank or cash drawer.

6.    Observe proper alcohol awareness rules when serving guests.

7.    Ensure the line room is clean and organized and the lines are fully stocked.

8.    Maintain cleanliness in all storage and cooler areas.

9.    Deliver amenities as requested.

10.    Complete all barback related paperwork on a daily basis.

11.    Perform any extra duties as requested by management.

12.    Ensure all storage areas are organized and stock is transferred.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1.    Excellent guest service experience. Friendly and polite

2.    Alcohol Awareness

3.    Must be 21 years of age

4.    Excellent job performance

LICENSE / PERMIT REQUIREMENTS:  n/a 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

Must be able to stand and be upwardly mobile for periods of up to four hours in length.  Must have good sense of balance, be able to bend and kneel and have the ability to lift bus pans and trays frequently weighing up to 25 pounds. The following activities are normally required to perform these functions:  stand,  walk,  bend,  reach,  read,  write,  eye to hand coordination,  depth perception, effective verbal communication,  strong math skills,  excellent organizational skills.
