The Cambria Hotel in Detroit will feature upscale amenities that appeal to modern travelers, including immersive, spa-style bathrooms with Bluetooth mirrors - Contemporary and sophisticated guest rooms, complete with modern fixtures, abundant lighting, and plush bedding – Multiple food and beverage options - Flexible meeting and event space- State-of-the-art fitness center - Locally inspired designs.   Job Summary: A banquet houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of any banquet rooms, meeting rooms, storage, and service areas.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Set up banquet rooms according to the provided specifications.
• Reset the room to its original state after the event has concluded.
• Assist servers during the event.
• Transport tables and equipment.
• Report maintenance issues to management.
• Provide requested information to banquet patrons.
• Assist in assembling podiums and other structures.
• Relay information to outside departments.
• Assist audio/visual personnel in setting up equipment.
• Transporting food, beverages, decorations, and equipment.
• Immediately report any safety hazards, injuries, maintenance problems or accidents.
• Takes found items to designated lost and found area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards. 
• Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way.

Education and Experience:

• Sufficient education and literacy are needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
