Position: Peace Studies Coordinator

Department: Peace Studies

Campus: North Manchester, IN, USA

Target Hire Date: May 2026

The Peace Studies program is seeking an organized, mission‑driven Peace Studies Coordinator to provide essential support to the program director and contribute to a vibrant academic community focused on peace, justice, and social engagement. This role blends administrative coordination, campus involvement, and student mentorship, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact both inside and outside the classroom. The position is a one‑year appointment with the possibility of renewal.

What You'll Do: 

  • Organize and manage on‑campus activities, events, and special programs
  • Coordinate collaborations between Peace Studies and other campus offices
  • Support participation in off‑campus conferences and community events related to peace and justice
  • Advise and mentor select student‑led organizations
  • Represent the Peace Studies program to prospective students and community audiences
  • Provide logistical and clerical support for Peace Studies–related university committees
  • Supervise and support student workers
  • Maintain social media accounts and web‑based publications
  • Assist Peace Studies faculty with academic‑related tasks as needed

What You'll Need: 

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, peace, and justice
  • Previous experience with campus organizing, student engagement, or activism preferred
