 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform preliminary and detailed engineering study and design tasks for water resources and related civil engineering projects including:
    • Stormwater hydrology, hydraulics and management
    • Watershed assessment & planning
    • Urban flood risk and floodplain management
    • Flood protection and resilience design
    • Low impact development/green infrastructure
    • Stormwater and drainage infrastructure design and permitting, preferably locally.
    • Stream and creek improvement and restoration
  • Performs numerical modeling studies in support of stormwater, drainage and creek/stream improvement projects 
  • Prepares design plans, specifications, and cost estimates, in support of final bid packages 
  • Participates in meetings between project team members, subcontractors, and client managers 
  • Prepares technical reports, memos and presentations and makes presentations

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Experience preparing drawings/detailing plans using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD through drafting classes or other CAD experience 
  • At least one previous related internship preferred but not required

Working conditions:

Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
