Summary of Position

Server ensures the Hotel’s high service standards are reached and exceeded throughout all aspects of the guests’ dining experience. This guest-facing role is key for establishing meaningful relationships with guests by using a personalized approach and technical expertise to create the ultimate dining experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

1. Warmly welcome guests upon arrival.
2. Take food and drink orders from guests accurately and with a positive attitude.
3. Uphold a friendly and professional demeanor using luxury verbiage and positive body language.
4. Strive to connect with and engage guests in a warm and friendly manner.
5. Write guests’ food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
6. Display knowledge of the menu and daily specials, with the ability to make suggestions while taking into consideration dietary needs or restrictions.
7. Engage with guests frequently throughout duration of dining experience to ensure satisfaction with meal and service.
8. Seek to create memorable moments by recognizing special occasions and celebrations.
9. Communicate with the culinary staff to ensure all orders are prepared correctly.
10. Resolve problems and guest complaints swiftly and gracefully while using appropriate service recovery procedures and/or involving management were needed.
11. Collect payments from tables.
12. Performing cleaning duties such as at service station, around kitchen and in dining area as needed.
13. Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
14. Assist food preparation staff when necessary.
15. Responsible for his/her section for cleanness and organization, before during after service

Qualifications

1. Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment demonstrating patience and a friendly, professional demeanor.
2. Great active listening skills.
3. Exceptional organization and time management.
4. A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure and collaborate with other bussers, cooks, and staff.
5. Knowledge of food service regulation and proper food and alcohol handling procedures.
6. Willing to work flexible schedules that include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
7. Ability to problem solve and recover service misses.
8. Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
9. Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
10. High school diploma.
11. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner.
12. Experience in a luxury environment is a plus.
13. Experience in 5 stars Forbes restaurant is a plus

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time, twist at the neck and trunk, bend at the waist and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, reach overhead, above shoulders and horizontally. Employees will use hands to handle objects and tools and operate service equipment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40-pound objects. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees may use vision to monitor food quality and quantity and may also order supplies, etc. Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry heavy trays and equipment, as well as delicate China and barware 
• Ability to endure abundant physical movements throughout the work areas.
• Job requires indoor and outdoor service in fluctuating weather
