Career Opportunity: Patient Interpreter (Spanish) Reports to: Health Center Site Director  Organization: The HealthCare Connection (THCC) Location: Cincinnati, OH (Northern Hamilton County)   About The HealthCare Connection:   Founded in 1967, The HealthCare Connection was Ohio’s first Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Our mission is to provide quality and accessible primary healthcare services through community responsive approaches that address financial, geographic, and other barriers to care for residents of northern Hamilton County and surrounding areas. THCC is proudly recognized as a Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), the highest level of recognition attainable for quality care.   We boast two primary care locations and 6 school-based health centers providing quality value-based care for over 20,000 patients. We provide services in Primary Care, Infectious Disease, Substance Use, Integrated Behavioral Health, Dental Services, Women’s Health, and Pharmacy.   

Position Summary
The HealthCare Connection is seeking a compassionate and skilled Interpreter to provide in-person interpreting services at our Lincoln Heights facility. This role requires fluency in Spanish along with a strong commitment to customer service and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite interpretation for patients and staff in Spanish and English
  • Accurately relay medical and dental information between speakers of two different languages
  • Ensure interpretation services are delivered in compliance with all organizational policies and procedures
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions
  • Support clinical and administrative teams to enhance patient communication and experience

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish and English required
  • Medical interpretation certification or graduation from a relevant interpretation program required
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in a community health center or private physician practice
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
