QUALITY INSPECTOR

FAA Covered position

Role Summary/Purpose:

Ensure the parts and components of aircraft equipment conform to design specifications and meet industry standards.  Interact directly with Aircraft Parts Technicians, customer engine sites, airline customers, engineering, and quality regarding technical issues.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to customers, engineering, production, and quality.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • High school diploma / GED
  • One to two years related experience or training
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak the English language: interpret and follow written procedures, etc., complete documentation, i.e. routers, etc., and follow verbal instructions
  • Basic math, computer skills, attention to detail; Hand/eye coordination and analytic skills
  • Documentation and Reporting skills
  • Near Vision: 20/25 (Snellen) at 16” (42 cm) ± 1” (2.54 cm) or equivalent in at least one eye, natural or corrected is required.
