Marketing and Communications Associate

The Impact

We’re looking for a creative storyteller who will help to promote Hillwood’s educational programs, grow our membership community, and showcase our unique museum shop offerings. You will create content, work with the press, and play a role in broadening and deepening engagement with Hillwood’s audience. Your campaigns won’t just inform, they will inspire visitors to engage more deeply with the legacy of Marjorie Merriweather Post and experience all that our 25-acre estate has to offer. 

What You Will Do

 As our Marketing and Communications Associate, you will:
 

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of integrated marketing campaigns that encourage people to plan a visit to Hillwood
  • Partner with our membership, interpretation, and museum shop teams to craft compelling stories that connect our collections to contemporary audiences
  • Support the development of engaging content that brings Hillwood’s history to life across websites, emails, social media, and print materials
  • Contribute to campaign performance tracking efforts and share success stories tied to attendance and revenue goals
  • Assist with media relations, responding to inquiries, coordinating press visits, and pitching stories
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, keeping campaigns on schedule and stakeholders aligned

What You Bring
 

  • You have successfully worked on marketing campaigns from concept to completion, preferably in a museum, educational, or nonprofit environment
  • You write compelling stories that connect with diverse audiences—from art enthusiasts to families planning their weekend
  • You are comfortable with email marketing platforms, Google Analytics, and social media management tools
  • You excel at juggling multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • You collaborate effectively across departments and can translate complex ideas into clear, engaging content
  • You bring 1-2 years of relevant experience and a creative, proactive approach to problem solving
