GENERAL SUMMARY

In this hands-on position, the Community Impact Intern will gain a better understanding of the company’s day-to-day activities by assisting in a variety of areas; including company events and general activities in various departments. The Community Impact Intern will complete a community related project and share findings with leadership at the conclusion of the internship. This internship presents an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in business within a dynamic organization. The intern will also have opportunities to network with other interns, leaders, and departments within the organization. 

Position Term: Summer 2026

Duration: 12-weeks starting June 1, 2026 through August 20, 2026

Location: Onsite, Corporate Office in Minneapolis, MN

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 29.5 hours/week, flexible between 9:00am and 4:30pm

This position will be with Stratacor, an affiliate of Delta Dental of Minnesota.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Assist in the communication, planning and execution of various community opportunities and events
  2. Research strategic community initiatives and data
  3. Assist with executing community initiatives, meetings, and events
  4. Serve as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders; includes providing project guidance and support
  5. Compile and present community findings to leadership

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Required:

  1. Highest degree of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality; demonstrated discretion in the handling of highly sensitive material and information.

  2. Excellent reading, writing, editing skills.
  3. Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
  4. Resourceful, with good organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to meet required deadline.
  5. Strong problem-solving and organization skills.
  6. Team player, ability to see the big picture goals of the organization and contribute on day-to-day tasks.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  1. 1-3 years relevant course work in Business, Human Resource Management
  2. Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program for Business, Marketing, Industrial Psychology, Human Resources, or related field
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Travel Requirements:  Limited - may attend onsite and local offsite events.
  2. Weight Lifting Requirements: 20 lbs.
  3. Sedentary Work: Prolonged periods of sitting at a workstation while working at a computer

RELATIONSHIPS

  1. Reports To: Executive Vice President, Chief Impact Officer
  2. Directly Manages: None
  3. Internal Relationships: Interacts with all interns, team members, management, Initiatives & Events, Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation, etc.
  4. External Relationships: Customers, vendors and visitors

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

Benefits for this position include earned sick and safe time. The salary for this position is $18.50 hourly. The Company takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including merit process and internal pay alignment when determining the salary for potential new team members. In compliance with state and federal regulations, a potential new team member’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
