As a an OSP Construction Intern you will assist with inspecting and verifying fiber network construction is built in accordance with ImOn’s quality standards. The OSP Construction Intern will work with the Siouxland team on project to gain well-rounded exposure to fiber infrastructure and construction, along with many other aspects of the telecommunication industry.

This is a paid internship.

What You’ll Do

Read maps, construction prints, and technical specification documents
Walk several miles per day in residential and business environments
Test and verify light continuity and signal strength in newly-constructed fiber networks
Note construction deficiencies and restoral work needed on construction maps
Interact with property owners to resolve complaints
Breakdown projects into assigned tasks to meet deadlines
Schedule is a flexible 40 hours/week.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task?
Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data to make sound decisions?
Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively, while meeting deadlines?
Ability to work independently?
Ability to work with tools such as (but not limited to) can wrenches, handhole hooks, engineer’s hammers, and metal detectors
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time?
Excellent written and verbal communication skills?
Must be able to work in a team atmosphere?
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Live in or near the Designated Market Area build (Siouxland)
