FUNCTION:

Under the direction of the Branch Manager, a Universal Banker is at the forefront of customer interactions as part of a branch-based team that provides high quality service that earns the long-term loyalty of our customers. Leverages communication skills and banking knowledge to engage with customers. Understand customers’ needs, which will provide financial solutions and advice to resolve issues and help customers achieve their financial goals. It is an all-encompassing role which requires the associate to provide banking products and services to new and existing customers.  This individual is also responsible for opening new accounts, assisting customers in processing banking transactions. Responds to customer inquiries by promptly answering questions, resolving routine problems, or referring our customers and new business to the appropriate service personnel. This position may also include additional duties that vary dependent upon the Branch needs. Demonstrates a willingness to do more than is required or expected by embracing the Bank’s mission statement and core values, which will improve results and morale as well as create new opportunities. NOTE: This position can be a Float Universal Banker which has same requirements but functions under the direction of a Regional Manager supporting various locations as needed.

11.    Instructs and guides customers in the use of electronic products and services to ensure customers are well informed and comfortable using them.

12.    Seeks and promotes opportunities to provide Merchant Services and Elan credit card products to customers. 

13.    Conducts business in a professional manner and maintains a neat, organized work area.

14.    Enthusiastically participates in and supports Bank-sponsored marketing initiatives, sales meetings, training programs and campaigns/contests.

15.    Serves as an active member of the customer service office team opening deposit accounts, taking loan applications

16.    Accurately process teller transactions and maintain teller difference limits while adhering to bank procedures.

17.    Cross-trained to support other departments such as ITM, Loan Servicing, Deposit Operations.

18.    Perform account maintenance, wire transfers, bond redemptions, safe deposit box services, foreign currency transactions and stop payments.

19.    Performs all daily Operational tasks including but not limited to:

21.    Performs All banking transactions

22.    Night deposits, subject to verification bags

23.    Loan applications 

24.    Assists in the proving of the ITM/ATM machine.

25.    Issues Debit/ATM cards through Card@Once and performs maintenance when cards are compromised due to lost, stolen or fraud.

26.    Effectively uses available resources for problem resolution.

27.    Utilizes Currency Exchange International (CXI) to order and deposit foreign currency as needed.

28.    Adheres to Bank Policies and Procedures as they relate to daily tasks

29.    Participates as a “team player” to accomplish branch tasks and attend required training/meetings

30.    Performs additional duties as requested.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:

High school/some college preferred.  Minimum of 4 months’ sales/customer service experience in a retail environment. Previous banking and/or cash handling experience necessary. A self- motivator with a demonstrated aptitude and desire for sales achievement. Maintains a current registration with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS). Decision-maker with well-developed interpersonal skills including a positive and helpful attitude. 

Physical/Work Condition Requirements:

In the performance of respective tasks and duties, the employee is expected to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.  Reasonable employee accommodation for physical or mental disabilities will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  While performing duties the employee is required to sit, talk, hear, lift up to 50 lbs., carry coin bags, and may be required to work evenings and/or weekends. This position requires the employee to have reliable transportation and a personally owned, insured vehicle. Due to the nature of the role and security protocols, the employee must be able to travel independently to assigned locations/trainings without reliance on public transportation, rideshare, or drop-offs. Mileage reimbursement will be provided according to company policy.
