Job Description

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Location: North MOB (Carmel)


Position Summary

This role supports patient access and administrative functions by ensuring accurate scheduling, registration, and financial documentation. The position plays a key role in facilitating patient flow while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.


Role Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments efficiently and accurately
  • Manage referrals, RightFax communications, and coordination with multiple departments
  • Collect, validate, and enter patient demographic and insurance information
  • Interpret insurance benefits and assist with billing-related inquiries
  • Explain department and hospital charges, policies, and payment expectations
  • Enter and validate charges in appropriate systems to support timely reimbursement
  • Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately
  • Interview patients to obtain necessary medical and financial information

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in a healthcare or medical office setting
  • Ability to learn and retain medical coding concepts (ICD-10, CPT preferred)
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical practices
  • Ability to interpret insurance information accurately
